This review is for our one-night stay on February 26th, 2026 at ChartHouse Clearwater Beach Marina Hotel (rooms 607 and 815).
When we arrived on the afternoon of the 26th, we were a bit surprised to discover that it was the hotel’s one-year anniversary and grand opening celebration. The atmosphere was lively and energetic — definitely “major party vibes.” While I’m sure many guests enjoy that kind of scene, it was 4:00 pm after a long travel day, and we were really looking forward to resting in our room before dinner.
By early evening, it became clear that a nap wasn’t going to happen. Music was pumping around the pool area, and with the increased crowd from the celebration, the noise carried heavily into our original room (607). We requested a room change to one farther from the pool, and the staff kindly and promptly accommodated us. We were moved to room 815 on the 8th floor, which had absolutely breathtaking marina views — truly stunning.
There are many positives worth noting. The hotel is only about a year old, and everything feels extremely clean and well-maintained. The rooms are in excellent condition, the beds were comfortable, and the views are fantastic. Complimentary pool towels are provided, and the staff throughout our stay were polite, professional, and responsive.
That said, there were a few downsides. Because of the party atmosphere, we weren’t able to relax by the pool at all. The jacuzzi spa also wasn’t usable during our visit, as several children were splashing in it. In addition to needing to switch rooms due to noise, we discovered the next morning that the shower would only get lukewarm — never truly hot. We were also disappointed that we couldn’t use the otherwise beautiful patio because it was covered in pelican droppings. That seemed more like a maintenance issue than housekeeping, but it still made the space unusable.
Would we stay here again? I wouldn’t completely rule it out, especially if the high-energy celebration was a one-time event. However, the lack of hot water and being unable to use the patio were definite drawbacks. We would certainly be more inclined to give the hotel another try if some form of credit or compensation were offered for the unexpected inconveniences during our stay.
